Recipe: Spinach Pie

A few weeks ago my husband purchased a lot of spinach… A LOT! After checking several recipes, I decided to make one by my own. With a little memory from a spinach pie I used to have in Argentina and the help of all the ingredients in my fridge, I managed to make a pie that turned out deliciously good! The texture was a little bit creamy, because of the frozen spinach I used. For different textures you can try different kinds of spinach and maybe adding starch or maybe even jell-o?
Ingredients:
- Spinach 250gr – Ricotta 250 gr – 1 bag of Parmesan cheese – 1tsp of salt – 1 egg – 1 onion – 1 garlic toe – Pie dough
Directions:
- Mix all the ingredients together… and put the mix inside the pie! Then use the rest of the dough to close the pie. A cute detail I love to add is heart or animal shapes made with the leftover dough and used to decorate the pie ![]()
- Bake for as long as it is instructed on the dough’s packaging.

Let me know if you try it… and if you added any other ingredients! ^^

October 5, 2014 at 11:18 pm (3 months ago)I love spinach! And I love spinach pies. My mum makes the most incredible one, I’ve tried to make it myself but I can never make it like hers. Over here in Australia our spinach pie essentially mimics the Greeks spanakopita version. We add feta cheese and my mum adds a mixture of onions, spring onions and herbs along with eggs etc. You could try that one if you want something different
